No moon photos (though I did take a couple of the “supermoon”, which can be found at my journal). It just wasn’t as awe-inspiring as I had hoped in my neck of the woods. There were some really great captures on flickr, so some folks got really lucky *jealous* (: Instead, I bring you a different (could be considered celestial) photo.

Mar_see_ya's post prompted me to post my own shot of tonight's moon. Like mar_see_ya, I plan to go back out tomorrow night and shoot again to see how different they are. I'm not sure where she (he?) is, but this was shot over Lake Michigan on the North side of Chicago.

This was shot with my telephoto/macro lens - 300mm with macro. I'm still futzing a bit with settings but this one is ISO 800, f5.6, shutterspeed 1/500. The one I did at ISO 1600 has better contrast but is grainy as all get out. I think tomorrow I'm going to see if I can get a decent one at 400. 100 didn't work because it left the shutter open too long and I just got a bit bright blur.

From my trip to NYC two summers ago. Was fudging around with the editing tools.
