I don't enter contests, but I know this is somewhat of a more difficult theme, so I thought I'd share a photo that I took a while back for a friend's engagement. Doesn't have to be THIS theme, but there's lots of stuff one can do with 'love' ... even the word; doesn't have to be actions. (:

Today I went to my first ever Hibachi--it was a lot of fun. Here's two photos. One of the plate I ended up getting (noodles, veggies, rice, shrimp, and chicken) and one of the crazy flames (: The rest you can check out at my personal journal.

No moon photos (though I did take a couple of the “supermoon”, which can be found at my journal). It just wasn’t as awe-inspiring as I had hoped in my neck of the woods. There were some really great captures on flickr, so some folks got really lucky *jealous* (: Instead, I bring you a different (could be considered celestial) photo.

Mar_see_ya's post prompted me to post my own shot of tonight's moon.  Like mar_see_ya, I plan to go back out tomorrow night and shoot again to see how different they are. I'm not sure where she (he?) is, but this was shot over Lake Michigan on the North side of Chicago.

This was shot with my telephoto/macro lens - 300mm with macro.  I'm still futzing a bit with settings but this one is ISO 800, f5.6, shutterspeed 1/500.  The one I did at ISO 1600 has better contrast but is grainy as all get out.  I think tomorrow I'm going to see if I can get a decent one at 400.  100 didn't work because it left the shutter open too long and I just got a bit bright blur.

Tonight's (3/18/11) Moon. I took this photo to compare it to tomorrow's. We're supposed to be able to see the moon at it's largest in twenty years. This was taken with my 55mm-200mm lens, zoomed all the way in to 200mm. I'll do the same tomorrow night (hopefully it's not cloudy).

I actually like how this photo came out, so I decided to share it. It's my "Day-49" photo for my project-365. I just realized I need more 'camera/photo' icons.... hm.

This is how I've been using up extra candy canes left over from the holidays.
